About Tanglin
Tanglin has been a high-end residential area since the 1800s, when plantations gave way to bungalows for European merchants and officials.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens were founded here in 1859 and became Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. Many embassies are along Nassim Road and Napier Road.
