Marble Wine Mark Removal & Restoration in Central Singapore

Red wine is one of the worst things to spill on marble because it does two kinds of damage at once. Its colour soaks into the stone and leaves a pink or purple stain, and its acid etches a dull ring into the surface. We treat both: a poultice draws out the colour, then honing and polishing restores the shine.

What wine mark restoration includes

  • Assessment of stain depth and etching
  • Oxidising poultice to draw out the wine colour
  • Second application for older or deep marks
  • Honing and polishing to remove the etched ring
  • Sealing so future spills are easier to wipe up

Typical wine marks

  • Pink, purple or grey rings on a dining table or bar counter
  • Dull circles where glasses stood
  • Spill marks on floors after a party
  • Old marks that won't wipe off

Wine Mark Restoration: what you should know

Two problems, one ring

Wine contains both pigment and acid. The pigment is a stain inside the stone; the acid is an etch on the surface. Polishing alone leaves the colour; a poultice alone leaves the dull ring. That's why wine marks need both steps, in the right order.

What to do straight after a spill

Blot (don't wipe) with a dry cloth, then rinse the area with clean water and blot again. Don't use vinegar, lemon or bleach. Take a photo and WhatsApp us; the sooner a wine stain is treated, the easier it comes out.

Dining tables, bars and wine cellars

Wine marks are most common on marble dining tables, kitchen islands, bar counters and the floor around them. We treat all of these on site, so nothing needs to be moved out of the home.

How a job works

  1. WhatsApp us 3 or 4 photos of the marble, including a close-up of any marks, plus your condo or block and the areas you want done.
  2. Get a price. We reply with an estimate the same day, or visit within 1 to 3 days to check the stone.
  3. Book a date. Jobs usually start 3 to 7 days after you confirm.
  4. We protect, hone, polish and seal, with walls and cabinets sheeted off and the slurry cleaned up daily.
  5. Inspect together and pay by PayNow or bank transfer once you're happy.

Before we arrive

  • Clear small items, rugs and anything fragile from the area.
  • Tell us if you need help moving large furniture.
  • Point out any cracks, hollow tiles, stains or etch marks you want us to focus on.
  • Check your condo's renovation rules: notice, lift booking and working hours.
  • Keep pets and children away from the work area while machines are running.

Aftercare

Use coasters and a tray for bottles and decanters. A honed (matt) finish on dining tables hides future etching better than gloss.

Frequently asked questions

Can red wine stains be removed from marble?

Yes, in most cases. Fresh stains come out more easily, but even older marks usually lighten a lot or disappear with one or two poultices, followed by polishing to remove the etch ring.

Why is there still a dull ring after the colour is gone?

That's the etching from the wine's acid. It needs honing and polishing, which we do as part of the same job.

Do you restore marble dining tables?

Yes, on site. We treat wine, coffee and water rings and re-polish the whole top so the finish is even.

Should I try bleach on a wine stain?

No. Bleach can discolour some marbles and won't fix the etching. Rinse with water, blot and send us a photo.

Want your marble shining again?

Send 3 or 4 photos of your marble on WhatsApp and get a price, usually the same day.
